Venus, Our Bodies in Her Image

Venus, Our Bodies in Her Image

Venus was a turning point—a dive into both large-scale sculpture and the human form for the first time. Inspired by Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, this piece reimagines transformation, with the figure emerging from coral, shedding fragments of a dying reef as she becomes flesh. It speaks to cycles of change, the tension between decay and renewal, and the way we carry remnants of our past as we grow into something new.
