Wrap Around Me
Wrap Around Me
Wrap Around Me represents the tightening, unsettling feeling of illness within the body. Composed of multiple ceramic forms strung together, the piece uses contrasting surfaces
to convey a physical and emotional narrative. Glossy, erratic glazes represent the discomfort
of sickness, unnatural, invasive, and spreading; while sections of raw, textured clay symbolize fleeting moments of health. The rope binding the forms emphasizes internal tension and containment. This work explores how imbalance feels when something is wrong beneath
the surface, using material and form to express the quiet but persistent presence of distress
within the body.
